How often do you see fiction books set in Bulgaria on the market? How many of those have been written by foreign authors?
Ellis Shuman’s latest collection of short stories titled Rakiya: Stories of Bulgaria is notable for it offers a rare glimpse of how Bulgaria looks like from the outside. While the author is fond of the rich cultural heritage of our country, he is not afraid to tackle social tensions and taboo topics, including the history of the Holocaust.
